Exercise 2 - Emirati Women

As we all know not everything in our world is perfect, we will find people who support the women and encourage them to evolve and be successful in any field in their life, yet on the other hand we will find people who suppress them or crush their ambitions and they will never accept the fact that women can be as good as men in any place.

The conflict:
The conflict starts from Home. When a family doesn’t allow their daughter to complete her study, or when they band them from leaving home to look for a job or accept any kind a job. Some of them they will never allow their daughters to work because they don’t want them to communicate with men or force them to work in an environment that only have women only. That kind of thinking will make the women weak and useless; it will also implant the idea in her head and transfer it to her kids in future. If the woman put her foot to the ground and wanted to blossom and be a great part of the society the people around her will start talking about her and make her look bad and compare her to her other peers until she losses her strength. Only few of those women can survive this conflict and can force her negative surrounding to accept the fact that she can be very successful woman in any place if she wants to. Another conflict is the religion when they take it as an alibi to band women from working which is totally wrong as Islam or other religions always equalize the women to men.

Cultural view:
The women in our society and in the world as well are still suppressed by the cultural view of them being in the work field. They still think she can never lead and she will always be wrong and let her emotion lead her. The cultural view is that they don’t believe that women should work alongside with men and she should never leave her house at first place and her only role in life is to take care of the kids and her husband. Those people are still trapped in their old mentality and old tradition and culture which says that women can never take a man’s place at leading roles or any other role in life, which in my view if not how come we have female ambassadors and ministers, etc.?

Best solution to the problem:

We should start educating those who suppress women by confreres showing how it is important to support the women in our society and how she can help her family or her husband financially, those conferences can be held by great female leaders or successful women or even better by sheikhas and sheikhs who always supporting the role of the women in our society like sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid or Shiekha Fatima Bin Mubarak Or Shiekha Lubna Alqasimi which she make a great role to the Emirati women. Another solution is by teaching the new generation in schools from the very young age how important is the role of the woman and how equal they are to men at all levels.
